“フリーバーズ”とは？ 伊東福雄･篠原正志は、小原聖子門下生(3ヶ月違い)で、いわゆる“先輩･後輩”の間柄。 演奏をともにしながら、15年経った1985年に《フリーバーズ》結成。 当初の目的は「ソルの全作品を演奏しよう！」 あわせて、ジャンルに絞られずレパートリーの新規開拓に力を注ぐ。 《フリーバーズ》とは、その名の通り「自由に羽ばたく鳥たち」の意味で、 音楽ジャンルに拘らず独自のサウンドを創り出すことを目標に結成。 以降、毎年一流演奏家を迎えテーマをつけたリサイタルを行うとともに、全国各地でコンサート活動を行っている。 主な軌跡 1985年 デビューコンサート　“イギリスのやさしい風”　東京原宿「中央教会」にて 武尊音楽週間の演奏家、スタッフとして数年間参加 1986年 シリーズ･コンサート『フリーバーズと仲間たち』スタート “アメリカン・ドリーム”　を「バリオホール」にて 1987年 “春・イタリアに舞う”　３日連続コンサート　「青山アートスペース」にて 『フリーバーズ・ギターライブラリー�T』リリース 1988年 “ライン川はバッハの調べ”　東京原宿「中央教会」にて 1989年 “パリ　２００年を彩った音楽家たち”　ＧＧサロン “アルハンブラへの道”　を「サントリーホール（小）」にて 1990年 田沢湖音楽祭に《フリーバーズ》として参加、以降毎年常連となる 1992年 “カルメン幻想”　を「サントリーホール（小）」にて 1993年 “和・洋楽器の遭遇”　を「銀座クロイゾンホール」にて 1994年 『ブナの巨木の森コンサート』に参加、毎日新聞全国版第一面にて紹介される 1995年 『フリーバーズ推薦演奏会』スタート　「銀座クロイゾンホール」にて 『湯宿・ふれあいコンサート』を、地元と協同で数回開催 1996年 『第17回　田沢湖音楽祭ファイナルコンサート』で、 ギター協奏曲　“アランフェス”　を演奏（藤原義章指揮　音楽祭オーケストラ） NHK/FM　『土曜リサイタル』出演 1997年 平成８年度文化庁芸術祭参加　“ギター邦人作品展”　を「カザルスホール」にて 『北甲斐　音楽祭（第１回）』より毎年参加、リサイタルを行っている 1999年 デビューＣＤ『アルハンブラへの道』リリース　好評につき再プレス “フリーバーズ・ギター祭り”を「銀座クロイゾンホール」にて　１００名を超える生徒たちの演奏！ 結成以来、「老人ホーム慰問」「ホームコンサート」「祝宴演奏」「共演依頼演奏」「地方公演」等、 様々なところで２００回を超える演奏会を行っている。 また、個人の演奏家としても、作曲・独奏・指導・各イベントのスタッフ等、 各々独自の音楽活動を行いながら、質の高く、奥が深い演奏を目指している。 ギターデュオを続ける一方で、リコーダー・ヴァイオリンを加え、 『フリーバーズ・カンパニー』としても全国的に演奏活動を展開、好評を博している。 [Free Birds Profile] "Free Birds" was formed in Tokyo,1985,by Japanese guitarists,Fukuo Ito and Masashi Shinohara. They have been very active since then,and their first CD,"EL CAMINO A ALHAMBRA"was released. This is their first visit to perform in concert abroad and they are delighted to be playing in England. "Free Birds" have as varied repertoire offering not only original work for guitar, but also a number of pieces that they have arranged. Examples include Tango,and classical music over the Beatles hits. Their music is extremely varied,at times lively and exciting, and times soothing and gentle. [The performers] Fukuo Ito was born in Tokyo,in 1947. He taught himself the guitar when he was child,and later studied with Seiko Obara (who was taught by N.Yepes),Oskar Ghiglia. He won the first prize in the classical guitar competition in Japan,1972, His musical ability is divers,soloist,ensemble player,composer, teacher,and judges a number of guitar competitions. He is one of the committee in Japan Federation of Guitarists. Masashi Shinohara was born in Nagano in Japan,1952. He was also studies with Seiko Obara,Oskar Ghiglia,and went on to win the first prize in the "Tokyo International guitar competition"in 1973. Soon afterward,he flew out to Spain to develop his musical talent. Several years later,he performed many concerts in Korea and attracteds a large following. Masashi's musical activities are also very diverse covering many aspects of the music scene.
